The infrared remote control is transmitted by a straight line command.

Pressing a button on the remote control initiates a series of events that cause the controlled device to execute the command. The process is as follows:

Press the volume up button on the remote to touch the contacts below it and complete the volume up circuit on the board. The integrated circuit detected this.

The integrated circuit sends a binary "raise volume" command to the LEDs on the front of the remote control.

The LED emits a series of light pulses corresponding to a binary "boost" command.
